Sunday is Ruled by the Sun

Sunday corresponds to the sun, our closest star. This day is full of wonder and all sorts of magical potential for success, wealth, and fame. Sundays are for personal achievements of any kind such as working towards a promotion at your job, seeking fame and wealth, or being acknowledged for a job well done. All of these goals fall under the golden influence of the sun. Some suggestions for Sunday enchantments would include:

Sitting outside at sunrise and calling on the goddess Brigid for illumination and inspiration

Wearing gold jewelry or clothing that is gold or sunshine yellow to pull some color magic into your life

Arranging a few sunflowers in a vase and empowering these “flowers of the sun” for fame and ambition

Baking up a batch of cinnamon rolls for the family and enchanting them for health and success

Merry Meet & Welcome To Your Divination for Sunday, February 26th

February 26, 2017 @ 7:19 pm

Merry Meet & Welcome to your Divination for Sunday, February 26th. Lady of the Abyss starts today's divination out with a reading of the Pagan's Credo and continuing with special information on the New Moon, it's meaning, magickal work to be done with in this Moon's phase and much more........

A Pagan Credo

We worship the Great Goddess of Nature in all Her resplendent diversity. She is the Birthgiver: the origin of all life on this planet. Threefold are Her ways: Maiden, Mother, and Crone, for She is all Goddesses and all women. We honor Her everywhere: for She is everything; and in everyone: for She is all of us.

We worship the Horned One, Lord of Field and Forest. He is the wild and natural man in each of us: innocent, unfettered, and untamed. He is Lord both of Light and of Darkness: all Gods and all men. Our Lord is both Seed and Sower, Hunter and Prey; the eternal cycle of Sunlight and Shadow. We honor Him everywhere: for He is everything; and in everyone: for He is all of us.

Our Temple is a Sacred Space between the Worlds of Gods and Mortals. We worship in the Circle and in Nature: in our bodies, hearts, and minds. Our Gods are everywhere; but most of all they are within us. Therefore it is both our right and our sacred duty to discover and develop the Being within: for we may claim no greater Power than that of our own Higher Nature.

Our Goddess says: “If what you seek you do not find within yourself, you shall never find it! For behold: I have been with you from the beginning of Time and I am that which you shall embrace at the end of all your desire.”

We are a free people who dare to be Ourselves. To each of us is given the right to choose Good or Evil, Truth or Falsehood, Wisdom or Folly as our own understanding shall determine them. To each of us is given the responsibility for our choices: our thoughts, our words, and our actions.

“An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will,” is, and shall ever be, the greatest of all our Laws.

And finally the end of today’s Divination for Saturday, Feb. 25th

February 25, 2017 @ 7:19 pm

And finally.....

Your Animal Spirit for February 25 is The Raccoon
This masked bandit can make you laugh with his antics, or make you angry when you realize he’s made off with your food! Raccoon is incredibly curious—to the point that he’ll walk into a potentially dangerous situation just to see what’s up. Like Raccoon, are there situations you’re barging into before you have all the information? Might want to re-think this one.

The Wisdom of Buddha
All wrong-doing arises because of mind. If mind is transformed can wrong-doing remain?

Here we have inserted a magickal goody for Saturday, February 25th which is a "9 Point Checklist for Doing Spells & Rituals."

A Little Thought from Me to You....
Everything on Earth is Borrowed...
There is no Mine or Yours....
There is only Ours....
Even Time is Borrowed.
We kill over a plot of Land,
that belongs only to our Mother Earth.
All you have is what you came with...
and what you will leave with...
Your Spirit.

Your Saturday’s Divination Continued (Part 4)

February 25, 2017 @ 7:06 pm

Hang with us, just one more, darn the witch is mouthy today, lol!

The NEW MOON is a great time to set your intentions, write down goals or begin new projects for the forthcoming cycle. Consider sitting in ceremony or personal meditation and affirming to the Universe your intentions & inner-most heartfelt desires for the cycle.
ENERGY: New Moon – February 26/27
Moon & Sun in Pisces
(8.120 Pisces)

Moon – past, Intuition, unconscious, emotions, nurturing, feelings
Sun – now, Identity, consciousness, self-esteem, expression
Pisces (Water) – Sensitive, psychic, dreamy, creative, charitable, impressionable

Sunday, 26 February 2017 – 6:58 am PST (USA/Canada)
Sunday, 26 February 2017– 9:58 am EST (USA/Canada)
Sunday, 26 February 2017– 2:58 pm UTC
Monday, 27 February 2017 – 12:58 am AEST (Australia)
Monday, 27 February 2017 – 1:58 am AEDT (Australia)
Monday, 27 February 2017– 3:58 am NZDT (New Zealand)

Our February NEW MOON falls in the Zodiac sign of PISCES. Piscean New Moons are very powerful experiences of self-exploration… an opportunity to dive deep into the darker recesses of the psyche and explore the unconscious.

Whilst a heightened sensitivity and spiritual intuitive awareness of a Piscean New Moon maybe a very emotional experience for many, it need not be a painful or distressing experience. If you allow the glimpses into self to emerge with ease and simply trust in the divine unfoldment of the unknown… you open the door to reveal the highest version of yourself.

During this Piscean New Moon your inner-creativity will be heightened (during both your waking & sleep hours) and you may find yourself dreaming solutions to problems in your life or seeing new paths of opportunity beyond your perceived limitations. Allow the Piscean energy to amplify your dreamy state such that it knows no boundary. Don’t ‘play small’ with your dreams during a Piscean New Moon… to quote the words of Einstein: ‘you can’t solve a problem from the same level of consciousness that created it’. So dream big, bold, beautiful & joyously this New Moon in order to create new opportunities from a higher level of consciousness.

Our February Piscean New Moon is being amplified exponentially by the Solar Eclipse PLUS the alignments with Neptune, Fixed Star Sketa & Galactic Centre. Please keep reading down the page for all the details.
ENERGY: Total Solar Eclipse

During this February 2017 New Moon, we also have an Annular Solar Eclipse.

Firstly, a Solar Eclipse is whereby the moon moves between the Earth and Sun, obscuring Earth’s view of the Sun.

And then an Annular Solar Eclipse is where from our position here on Earth, the Sun appears behind the Moon as a very bright ring of light (an annulus or ring of fire) around the dark disk of the Moon, as the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun. From the vantage point of Earth, during our February Annular Solar Eclipse the moon will cover approx 99.27% of the Sun.

Solar Eclipse’s create the potential for huge personal and hence planetary transformations. The energy of a Solar Eclipse ‘obscures’ the now or potential future, and allows you to reflect on the past. Not to drag up old energy, or relive painful events or experiences, but rather to positively reassess where you have been and use this knowledge to re-adjust your path moving forward.

Whilst this eclipse is extraordinarily powerful, it doesn’t have to be a horrendous experience of loss, despair, struggle and inner-turmoil. You have a choice to experience this eclipse with a heightened or awakened vision of divine potential.

Let the Piscean dreamy intuitive states help you to see into the depths of your unconscious let go of all that was revealed during the Lunar Eclipse on the 10/11 February 2017 in order to step through golden doors of new opportunity in the months ahead.

With our New Moon Solar Eclipse aspecting Neptune, Skat & Galactic Centre (discussed below), I feel that this New Moon Eclipse will be the closing of a chapter (or even a book) in many peoples lives and the writing of a whole NEW STORY of awakened beauty and divine potential.

Our February Solar Eclipse will be visible in the Pacific Ocean, South America, Atlantic Ocean, Africa, Indian Ocean & Antartica.

Your Daily Tarot Card for February 25th is The Wheel of Fortune
The Wheel of Fortune represents that aspect of life that is directed by forces and events we may not understand or even be aware of. In short, The Wheel deals with chance—those occurrences that manage to alter even the most structured of lives, usurp man's "best laid plans." While the effects of The Wheel are unpredictable, the outcome is always change; sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. Our path through life is never a ride down a perfectly straight highway. Sometimes we may even experience hairpin turns or complete reversals of direction. The Wheel of Fortune is strong reminder that despite our plans, the Universe has its own agenda from which we cannot escape participation.

Your Personal Lucky Tarot Card for the Weekend is The Fool
This card represents the dreamer in you, the idealist, the mystic. The Fool desires to do great things, but is often unaware of just how difficult great things are to do. He must always be very careful of the choices he makes, and remember knowledge is his ally. The Fool often symbolizes a new beginning, unrestrained optimism, and curiosity that hasn’t been dulled by time. While The Fool may well indicate a lack of experience or grasp of the pitfalls along the path he is taking, it is equally true that his lack of experience leads him to believe all things are possible, which brings even impossible goals within his grasp.

When The Hanged Man or The Star are among your personal cards, the influence of The Fool may be increased. Having The Devil in your personal cards may diminish the influence of The Fool.

Your Witches Rune for February 25th is The Crossed Spears
Meaning: The presence of the spear signifies arguments, negative events, and all manner of strife of an upsetting nature. However similar to the ‘Tower’ tarot card if next to a positive rune it could mean the end of an argument or quarrel. If with the rings it means the healing or renewal of a relationship. If there are military connections it could mean promotion. If illness is within the equation it means a speedy and successful recovery.

Your Ancient Symbol Card for February 25th is The Crystal
The Crystal glows with the power of mystical truths transformed into material realities. The Crystal denotes a self with a powerful connection to the spiritual world that allows them to literally soak up cosmic wisdom and apply it favorably to their everyday life. It suggest a tremendous growth of one's spiritual self that will greatly impact the querant's secular life.

As a daily card, The Crystal indicates a time when you are likely to be well served by allowing your spiritual self to guide your day to day behavior.

Your Saturday’s Divination Continued (Part 3)

February 25, 2017 @ 6:53 pm

Part 3 of Your Divination for Saturday, Feb. 25th (alright, I know I full of it today, lol!)

Saturday & The Perfect Corresponding Spell
Saturday is the sixth day of the workweek. It's officially the weekend. Some see it as one of the luckiest days for gambling. It's one of those days where you can do what you need around your home and relax, as well. You can take care of a little business, then, reap the rewards. It's a really good day to do collect, courage, reap, gamble, and exercise spells.
Collect Spells – Collect What's Due Spell
What you will need:
1 brown candle
1 sheet of paper
1 pen or pencil
1 pinch of sugar
1 lighter or match
Light a brown candle on a fire-proof surface and place a sheet of paper near. On that sheet of paper, write down how much is owed to you and how much you need to collect that money. Then, take a pinch of sugar and sprinkle it over what you have written. Say this chant three times:
“This debt, I need collected.
But not in a bad way.
I've sprinkled a little sugar,
To make it better,
As it makes its journey
Back to my hands.”
Blow out the candle, fold up the paper, and throw it away. This spell should get your money returned to you without hardship, or harm to anyone involved.

Celebrating Legends, Folklore & Spirituality 365 Days a Year for February 25 - Shrove-tide

Shrove-Tide

Shrove-Tide, first observed in the Middle Ages, was a time of festivity and carnival before Lent started. It was also a festival tival of the expulsion of Winter, demonstrated by the burning or drowning of an effigy of Winter. Shrove Tuesday, the day before Lent commences on Ash Wednesday, takes its name from being a day of confession of sins-"shrive" or confess. It was the last chance for good food and unrestricted fun before the long period of austerity began. Shrove-Tide became second ond only to Christmas for it frivolity and "Great Gluttony."

The three days were generally known as Shrove Sunday, Collop Monday, and Shrove Tuesday. Collop Monday takes its name from the habit of eating collops (cuts of fried meat). It only made sense to get rid of all the meat in the house, because it would be banned after Ash Wednesday. Similarly, on Shrove Tuesday, all other perishable foodstuffs were used up.
In Catholic countries, especially France, Shrove-Tide became Fat Tuesday (commonly known as Mardi Gras). This was a time of carnival, with masquerades, singing, and dancing. The festival tival still continues and has been carried over into America, in particular, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Current Moon Phase for Saturday, February 25
Waning Crescent
Illumination: 2%
The Moon today is in a Waning Crescent phase. In this phase the Moon’s illumination is growing smaller each day until the New Moon. During this phase the Moon is getting closer to the Sun as viewed from Earth and the night side of the Moon is facing the Earth with only a small edge of the Moon being illuminated. This phase is best viewed an hour or 2 before the sunrise and can be quite beautiful if you're willing to get up early. It can also be a great time to see the features of the Moon's surface. Along the edge where the illuminated portion meets the dark side, the craters and mountains cast long shadows making them easier to observe with a telescope or binoculars.

New Moon + Solar Eclipse – February 26/27, 2017
During our February New Moon in Pisces we have a Solar Eclipse combined with a number of other high energy alignments with Neptune, the fixed star Skat and the Galactic Centre.
GENERAL MEANING: New Moons

New_Moon_PThe NEW MOON represents the beginning of our 29 day lunar month. During a New Moon, the moon is roughly sitting between the Earth & the Sun, hence the Sun is shining on the ‘dark side of the moon’, the side of the moon we never see. As a result, we cannot see the moon as the side that faces the Earth is not illuminated.

The Moon & the Sun emanate frequencies and these energy waves influence the tides, and all life forms on Earth, including human behaviour / consciousness. In addition, during a NEW MOON, both the Moon & Sun are in the same Zodiac sign… giving an exponential boost or concentration of the energy.

The SUN represents our ‘outer-world’, our identify, our personality, our ego. It represents how we ‘shine our light’ out into the world, the present moment, our yang or masculine archetype expression. The Sun offers us strength, courage and illuminated insight of the Soul.

The MOON represents our ‘inner world’, our hidden emotions, desires, our shadow-self, fears/worries and our dreams. It represents our feelings, our unconscious beliefs, the past and our yin or feminine goddess archetype. The Moon offers us the ability to feel, learn from the past and creatively unlock and express our essence.

During a NEW MOON, the side of the moon that remains invisible to us here on Earth is being illuminated by the Sun. Thus our own ‘invisible’ side, our inner feelings, emotions and desires are also being illuminated during a new moon. During this illumination, we are given a window of opportunity to start a fresh, let go of the energy of the previous cycle and set our intentions, dreams & inner-most desires into conscious action.

Your Saturday’s Divination Continued (Part 2)

February 25, 2017 @ 6:35 pm

Merry Meet & Welcome Back to Part 2 of Today's Divination

Today is Saturday, February 25th, We Celebrate....
Ta’Anith Esther (Israel)
ASHERAH
Themes: Kindness; Love; Divination; Foresight
Symbols: Lion; Lilies; a Tree or Pole
About Asherah: Asherah, a Canaanite goddess of moral strength, offers to lend support and insight when we are faced with inequality or overwhelming odds. In art, she is often depicted simply as an upright post supporting the temple. This is a fitting representation, since her name means “straight.” Traditionally, Asherah is a mother figure often invoked at planting time, embodying a kind of benevolent, fertile energy that can reinforce just efforts and good intentions. Beyond this she is also an oracular goddess, specifically for predicting the future.
To Do Today: In Israel, this festival commemorates Esther’s strength and compassion in pleading with King Ahasuerus to save her people held captive in Persia. It is a time of prayer when one looks to the divine to instill similar positive attributes within us. For help in this quest, we turn to Asherah with this simple prayer:
Lady, make me an instrument of kindness and mercy;
let my words be gentle and true,
my actions motivated by insight and fairness.
Where there is prejudice, let me be the
bearer of tolerance.
Where there is uncertainty, let me share your vision.
Where there is disharmony, let me sow love.
Amen.
Plant a tree today to remember Asherah, and tend it often. As you do, you tend her attributes in your heart.

The Witches Guide to Saturday

Saturday is a day filled with opportunities to clean up and clear out. So if you are wondering why Hecate is assigned to this day, take another look at what she symbolizes and the magick that is associated with her. That should answer the question.

Hecate was the oldest form of the Greek Triple Goddess, as she presided over heaven, the underworld, and earth. Crossroads where three roads met were especially sacred to Hecate, earning her the title of Hekate of the Three Ways. It’s interesting to note that even after the worship of other goddesses waned, ancient people still worshiped Hecate as the Queen of the Underworld and the Guardian of the Three-Way Crossroad. It was also believed that if you left her an offering of food there, she would grant you her favors. As Hecate Trivia, her triple images were often displayed at these crossroads, where she was petitioned on the full moon for positive magick and on the dark of the moon for cursing and dark magick.

While this last bit of information sounds a little ominous, keep in mind that Hecate/Hekate was known by many titles and is a shapeshifter. Her appearance could and did change often. As a dark moon goddess, her faces are many. To some she may appear as a old crone, hunched over a smoking cauldron and draped in a midnight cape. To others she may appear as a dark beautiful, mysterious, and mature woman wearing a shimmering crown. To some she may be perceived as a maiden priestess. She was called the “most lovely one,” the Great Goddess of Nature, and the Queen of the World of Spirits. This dark goddess knows her way around the earth and the underworld. All the powers of nature, life, and death are at her command.

Magickal Day of Saturday

It’s the end of the week for many of us, so Saturday – named for the god Saturn – is a good time to wrap things up. Associated with the colors black and dark purple, and the metal lead, this day is also connected to the goddess Hecate. Gemstones like Apache tear, obsidian, and hematite are all connected to Saturday’s magic, as are plants such as thyme, mullein, and the cypress tree.

When it comes to magical workings, focus on agriculture and creativity, fortune and hope, protection and banishment of negativity.

Put up a barrier to keep the unwelcome out, eliminate the things that make you miserable, and wash your hands of anything other than your hopes, dreams and goals.

Saturday Is Ruled By Saturn

This day of the week got it’s name from the god of karma and time, Saturn. This day is obviously associated with the planet Saturn and is our last day of the week. Traditionally Saturdays are great days for protection, banishing a negative situation, and generally a good time to clean up any magical messes that you have been ignoring. Some suggestions for Saturday enchantments would include:

Wearing the colors of the day, black and deep purple. Here’s your perfect excuse to be dramatic and witchy. Empower these dramatic pieces of your wardrobe for protection and strength.

Burning black candles to absorb negativity and burning purple ones to increase your magical wisdom and boost your spirituality

Adding a touch of garden witchery to your Saturday spells by working with the pansy (in black or purple of course), the morning glory flowering vine, or the cypress tree.

Carrying an obsidian, hematite, or jet tumbled stone in your pocket to reinforce your personal protection and to ward off bad vibes and sour feelings. You can also add these crystals to a candle spell on a Saturday night to really increase the punch of your spellcasting.

Cleaning your house and cleansing it while you are at it. Tap into those obstacle-removing vibes and the positive, concluding energies.

Closing up the final day of the bewitching week with a bang by calling on Hecate for protection and guidance.
